$20 Million facelift completed at Wollstonecraft Station

The $20 million upgrade to Sydney’s Wollstonecraft Train Station is now open to commuters, delivering modern, safe, and accessible infrastructure, especially for people with a disability or limited mobility as well as parents with prams and commuters with luggage.  

Minister for Transport and Veterans David Elliott said the Wollstonecraft upgrade had been delivered as part of the NSW Government’s $2.2 billion Transport Access Program, which has seen stations across the State upgraded to offer commuters modern facilities and interchanges that meet the needs of growing communities. 

“These infrastructure projects not only deliver improved facilities for local commuters but also provides a job boost to associated industries, with more than 320 jobs created during planning and construction at Wollstonecraft Station,” Mr Elliott said.

 “The upgrade delivered significant improvements for all commuters with improved access to the platforms with the installation of two new lifts, new entry ramps to provide accessible paths to the lifts and a new widened footpath on the Shirley Road over bridge,” he said.

The NSW Government’s capital investment includes the following upgrades:  

• new lifts to access station platforms at the station.
• new entry ramps to provide accessible paths to the lifts;
• new amenities for males, females, and parents; and
• a covered boarding assistance zone on platform 1.

Member for North Shore Felicity Wilson said the works provided commuters with easy access to public transport with a new parking space and a ‘Kiss & Ride’ bay on Shirley Road, as well as security enhancements with improved CCTV.

 “I thank the local community and customers for their support and patience while work was being completed and I hope to see more locals making great use of the new facilities,” Ms Wilson said.

 “The NSW Government’s investment has seen security enhanced at our station with improved CCTV and lighting, so commuters feel safe at all hours.”

The NSW Government is also currently delivering upgrades at Killara, Pymble and Wahroonga stations on the North Shore Line, with an upgrade planned for Waitara Station. Construction at Roseville and Warrawee stations were also recently completed.
